چکیده

Digital audio watermarking today is robust to many common attacks, including lossy compression and digital-toanalogue conversion. One robustness and security challenge, still, is time-stretching. This operation speeds up or slows down the playback speed while preserving the tone pitch. Although inaudible for an uninformed listener if smoothly applied, time-stretching can be confusing for a blind watermark detection algorithm. We introduce a non-blind approach for reconstructing the original timing based on dynamic time warping. Our experiments show that the approach is successful even if non-linear stretching was applied. Our solution can significantly increase the robustness and security of every audio watermarking scheme that is dependent on precise timing conditions at detection time.

Fast Implementation for Non-linear Time-scaling of Stereo Signals

In this paper we present an improved implementation of Duxbury’s adaptive phase-vocoder approach for audio time-stretching using non-linear time-scaling and temporal masked phase locking at transients [1]. We show that the previous algorithm has some limitations, notably its slow implementation and its incapacity to deal with stereo signals. We propose solutions to this problems including: an i...

Affine Resistant Digital Audio Watermarking Using Template Matching

In this paper, we present a novel approach for embedding a digital watermark inaudibly into an audio clip, in the time domain, according to the difference between two half blocks of each block. The proposed scheme does not require any host-related information for watermark extraction. The embedded watermark is robust to common audio signal manipulations, such as MP3 compression, time shifting, ...

Self-synchronization for spread spectrum audio watermarks after time scale modification

De-synchronizing operations such as insertion, deletion, and warping pose significant challenges for watermarking. Because these operations are not typical for classical communications, watermarking techniques such as spread spectrum can perform poorly. Conversely, specialized synchronization solutions can be challenging to analyze/optimize. This paper addresses desynchronization for blind spre...

Lossless Audio Watermarking Based on the Alpha Statistic Modulation

In this paper, we propose a high capacity, self-synchronized, lossless audio watermarking algorithm based on the alpha (‘α’) statistic modulation. Here ‘α’ is related to the correlation among any given sequence i.e audio samples and it is modulated according to the watermark bit stream. The embedding scheme is tested in both the time domain and DWT domain. Though the time domain embedding reduc...

PhaVoRIT: A Phase Vocoder for Real-Time Interactive Time-Stretching

Time-based, interactive systems for digital audio and video often employ algorithms to control the speed of the media whilst maintaining the integrity of the content. The phase vocoder is a popular algorithm for time-stretching audio without changing the pitch; its characteristic “transient smearing” and “reverberation” artifacts, however, limit its application to “simple” audio signals such as...
